Eduwin Pakpahan is an Assistant Professor in Statistics at Northumbria University's Department of Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Perugia (2012) and a Bachelor's degree in Statistics from Bogor Agricultural University.
His research examines life-course health inequalities using statistical modeling. Core interests include mixed effect models for longitudinal data, dementia risk prediction in low-income countries, and socioeconomic determinants of aging. His work utilizes large cohort studies like SHARE and ELSA.
Recent publications focus on dementia prediction models, health trajectories among vulnerable youth, and COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. Articles show strong methodological rigor in biostatistics and epidemiology, with applications to global health equity.
He co-leads the tNIVOW project on non-invasive ventilation weaning strategies for COPD patients, funded by the National Institute for Health Research. His research informs healthcare protocols and social policy for aging populations.
