Yuntao (Simon) Chen is a Senior Research Fellow at the University College London's Faculty of Brain Science, specializing in epidemiology and aging research. He holds a PhD in medical statistics and focuses on modifiable risk factors for dementia, particularly environmental exposures like air pollution. His research employs advanced longitudinal modeling techniques in cohorts such as Whitehall II and the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Survey. Chen currently leads a Wellcome Early-Career Fellowship examining air pollutants' role in dementia development.
Education: PhD in Medical Statistics from University of Groningen; MSc from Fudan University.
Research Interests: Dementia risk factors, longitudinal cohort studies, environmental health (air pollution), applied statistics, and public health policy. He has contributed to international projects predicting dementia and disability trends in the UK and China.
