Dr. Eduard Rusanov is a Senior Researcher at ETH Zurich's Department of Inorganic Functional Materials under Prof. Komalenko Maxim's group. He holds a Ph.D. in Organoelement Chemistry (1997, Institute of Organic Chemistry, NAS Ukraine) and an M.S. in Chemistry (1993, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv). His research focuses on crystallography, inorganic materials, and X-ray diffraction techniques, with notable expertise in small molecule analysis and functional material synthesis. Prior roles include Head of the X-ray Structural Investigations Laboratory at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, National Academy of Science of Ukraine (2013–2022), and a part-time Visiting Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University (2012–2022).
Dr. Rusanov’s work spans over 330 publications, emphasizing structural characterization and synthetic methodologies. His recent articles explore fluorinated compounds, quantum dots, and high-pressure crystallography. Key contributions include advancements in thiacalixarene synthesis, heterocyclic chemistry, and supramolecular interactions under extreme conditions.
Labs/Teams: Active in Prof. Komalenko’s group at ETH Zurich and previously led the X-ray Structural Investigations Laboratory in Kyiv. Collaborations include York University (Canada), University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland), and Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany).
