Sergii Nedilko

Sergii Nedilko is Full Professor of Inorganic Chemistry and Head of a research group at the Physics Faculty, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine. Since 1972 he has progressed through every academic rank at the same institution, serving also as Vice-Dean for Education (1987–1997).

Research Interests

Professor Nedilko leads an internationally recognised programme on the synthesis and characterisation of complex oxide compounds and multifunctional nanomaterials. His work spans:

• Luminescent crystals, glasses, glass-ceramics and polymer-oxide-carbon hybrid nanocomposites
• Scintillators, WLED phosphors and solar-cell materials
• Eco-friendly nanocellulose composites for biomedicine and agriculture

Current goals focus on interphase interactions in nanostructured hybrids and the development of sustainable bio-nanocellulose-based composites.

Scientific Contributions & Awards

He has acted as expert reviewer for >20 top journals, including Journal of Alloys and Compounds and Journal of Luminescence, and has led three international projects under the Horizon 2020 NFFA programme.

Laboratory & Collaborations

Professor Nedilko heads a research group equipped for crystal growth, high-pressure spectroscopy, DFT modelling and advanced optical characterisation. Long-standing collaborations include European partners under H2020 and ongoing joint projects on radiation-detection materials and cellulose-based nanocomposites.
