Edris Arib is a Visiting Lecturer, Doctoral Student, and EIPCC Early Career Researcher at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy, University of Erfurt, specializing in Entrepreneurship and Public Policy.
He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt and is currently pursuing his doctorate under the supervision of Professor Dr. Heike Grimm.
Dr. Arib's research centers on Grand Corruption in the public sector, analyzing cases across countries and regions with particular focus on political support structures and Anti-corruption Agencies. His work bridges academic research with practical policy implementation, drawing from extensive professional experience in international organizations. His research contributes significantly to understanding how corruption undermines governance frameworks and how effective anti-corruption mechanisms can be developed in diverse political contexts worldwide.
As a public policy and rule of law professional, Dr. Arib has held significant positions including:
- Legal Counselor for Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC)
- Legal Counselor for International Development Law Organization (IDLO)
- Senior Legal Advisor for the European Union Police Mission in Afghanistan (EUPOL)
- Policy and Advocacy Consultant for Transparency International Secretariat in Berlin
He taught courses at the Willy Brandt School during the Winter Term 2022/23, bringing his field experience into the classroom to enrich student learning about practical policy implementation challenges.
