Edith Steiner is a Lecturer at Centennial College's School of Media, Art, & Design, with a PhD in Environmental Studies (2015). Her career bridges environmental research with arts-based practices, including documentary filmmaking and interdisciplinary scholarship.

Steiner's artistic projects, including the award-winning Northland: Long Journey and Conversations on the Lake, explore themes of border ecologies, post-conflict landscapes, and memory in environmental contexts. Her ongoing Borderland Memories in Lower Silesia project, funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, continues this tradition of blending media creation with scholarly inquiry.
