Danielle Beverly is an independent filmmaker and Core Faculty member in the MFA in Documentary Media Program at Northwestern University's School of Communication, Department of Radio/Television/Film. She works as a one-person crew for observational documentaries, with notable works including Qatar Stars (2023), Dusty Groove: The Sound of Transition (2019), and Old South (2015).
- Field producer for the longitudinal documentary REBIRTH
- Recipient of NYSCA, Doha Film Institute, and University Film & Video Foundation support
- Experienced in international industry incubators including Qumra and DOC NYC
Her research explores:
- Gendered social transitions through longitudinal ethnographic filmmaking
- Material culture preservation in urban environments
- Creative nonfiction storytelling in cross-cultural contexts
- Community-engaged distribution models for documentaries
- Social justice themes in media ethics
- Interdisciplinary approaches to documentary media
