Edith Hammer is an Associate Senior Lecturer in Microbial Ecology at the Department of Biology and Centre for Environmental and Climate research (CEC), Lund University, and serves as a LINXS Fellow and working group member for X-ray and neutron imaging applications in soil science.
Her research focuses on micro-scale soil structure and processes, specializing in synchrotron-based micro- and nano-spectroscopy analysis techniques. She develops custom microfluidic experimental units to investigate soil microbial ecology dynamics, bridging environmental science, climate research, and advanced imaging methodologies. This work supports interdisciplinary collaboration through LINXS initiatives in neutron and X-ray science.
Dr. Hammer actively contributes to the LINXS community within the Environment and Climate legacy theme, advancing applications of imaging technologies for soil science challenges while leveraging resources from Lund University's Centre for Environmental and Climate research.
