Edi Maletić is a Full Professor at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Agriculture, specializing in Viticulture and Enology. His academic career spans over three decades, with continuous service since 1987.
- Education: B.Sc. (1986) and M.Sc. (1993) from University of Zagreb, PhD (1999) in Viticulture
Research Focus: Ampelography, grapevine genetic resources, and molecular characterization of Croatian cultivars. His work bridges traditional ampelographic methods with modern molecular techniques to improve grapevine selection and nursery production.
Project Leadership: Coordinated 15+ research projects since 2004, including EU-funded initiatives and Croatian Science Foundation grants focused on disease-resistant varieties, clonal selection, and preservation of autochthonous grapevines.
Key Collaborations: International partnerships with institutions in Germany (University of Hohenheim) and organizations like EPPO. His research has been supported by European Social Fund and European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.
