Edgar Weckert

Edgar Weckert is a Professor at Universität Hamburg and a leading scientist at DESY, a Helmholtz research center. He has held key roles including Director for Photon Science at DESY (since 2009) and served on the DESY Board of Directors from 2008 to 2023. His research focuses on X-ray structure physics and crystallography, leveraging synchrotron facilities like PETRA III, which he led as project head from 2004.
