Edel Moore is a Lecturer in Marketing at the School of Design, University of Leeds, within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures. She holds an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience (University of York, 2018) and an MSc in Marketing (University of Ulster, 1999), alongside a BA in Business Studies (University of Ulster, 1998). Her academic journey includes roles at Dublin City University and industry experience in business development across multinational and SME sectors in Ireland, Australia, and the UK.
Her research focuses on behavioral addiction and fashion overconsumption, neuroaesthetics, consumer neuroscience, and sustainable practices in fashion supply chains. She has contributed to academic textbooks such as Fashion and Luxury Marketing (2022) and led the development of successful MA programs including MA Fashion, Enterprise and Society and MA Global Fashion Management. Moore has also served as an External Examiner for Birmingham City University's MA Fashion Management program.
Her research outputs emphasize pedagogical innovation, particularly in merging creativity, entrepreneurship, and marketing. Notable projects include the BMAF-funded study Beyond the Boundaries of the Business School, collaborating with institutions like Stanford University’s D-School. Recent conference contributions include lectures on neurotourism and conscientious consumerism at events in Portugal, Ireland, and Turkey.
Moore currently supervises four PhD students, including a LITAC-sponsored project addressing Leicester’s garment manufacturing challenges. She is an active member of professional organizations such as the Academy of Marketing and Society for Consumer Psychology, and has held roles including Fulbright scholarship mentor and session chair for the Marketing Educators’ Association.
