Earle Abrahamson is a Professor in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at the University of Hertfordshire, holding honorific titles including Fellow of the International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (FISSOTL) and National Teaching Fellow (NTF). He leads the Centre for Learning, Access and Student Success under the Office of the Vice-Chancellor, focusing on educational innovation and curriculum development.
His academic qualifications include a PhD from the University of East London (2024) on barriers/benefits of SoTL in sports therapy education, MA in Sport Psychology (1996), and BPhysEd in Sports Therapy (1993). He has held leadership roles in national bodies such as chairing soft tissue practice groups and co-chairing ISSOTL’s advocacy committee.
Abrahamson’s research emphasizes interprofessional learning in health professions, curriculum development, and SoTL dissemination. His recent work explores musculoskeletal anatomy education collaboration between physiotherapy and podiatry programs, and repositioning SoTL toward T-shaped scholar frameworks. He co-edits Teaching and Learning Inquiry (TLI) and founded the Journal of Impact Cultures.
Notable achievements include co-convening Advance HE’s TEAL network and leading the SMILES peer mentoring project (2016–2025). His awards reflect international recognition in teaching excellence and scholarly contributions to healthcare education.
