EVA MARIA ACOSTA PLAZA

Eva Maria Acosta Plaza is a Professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Department of Applied Physics and the Faculty of Physics. Her research focuses on optics, photonics, and medical imaging, with contributions to wavefront coding, phase mask optimization, and retinal image enhancement. She leads the P4Life Photonics4Life research group and is part of the Strategic Grouping in Materials (AEMAT). Her work includes developing Jacobi-Fourier phase masks to improve imaging systems and optimizing techniques for cataract-affected retinal imaging. She holds a doctorate in Optics GRIN and source-fiber coupling from the University of Santiago de Compostela.

Key research interests include wavefront analysis, aberration mitigation, and optical-digital system design. Recent publications explore noise reduction in wavefront sensing, f-number-dependent phase mask performance, and color image optimization for medical applications.
