معرفی
Carlos Montero Orille is a Professor in the Department of Applied Physics at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Faculty of Optics and Optometry. He is a member of the Strategic Grouping in Materials (AEMAT) and leads the QMatterPhotonics (Quantum Materials and Photonics Group). Previously, he contributed to the P4Life (Photonics4Life) research group. His doctoral work (1996) focused on modeling planar GRIN waveguides via ion exchange in glass, supervised by Dr. Carlos Gómez-Reino and Dr. Jesús Liñares Beiras.
Montero Orille's research integrates optics, photonics, and materials science, emphasizing ion-exchange fabrication techniques for optical components. His work spans quantum projectors, diffraction gratings, mode-division multiplexing systems, and astronomical imaging technologies. He has pioneered theoretical models for ion diffusion processes in glass and developed innovative interferometric systems for spatial mode multiplexing.
His publications (1993–2021) consistently address optical waveguide design, fiber optics innovation, and biomedical photonics applications. Key contributions include optimizing phase gratings, analyzing superconductor doping patterns for bolometers, and advancing SDM transmission protocols. His research bridges fundamental physics with applied technologies in photonics and optical instrumentation.
