ESRA SAKALLI

Esra Sakalli is a Lecturer in the Department of Histology and Embryology at Nigde Omer Halisdemir University's Faculty of Medicine, where she has been employed since 2022. She holds a Medical Doctor degree (1991-1998) and completed her specialization in Histology and Embryology (2018-2022) at Çukurova University, with her thesis focusing on curcumin's protective effects against doxorubicin-induced hepatotoxicity in rats.

Research Focus: Her work spans oncology, toxicology, and reproductive health with emphasis on:

• Drug interactions in cancer therapy (e.g., sinvastatin/acetylsalicylic acid effects on colon cancer)
• Vaccine impacts on reproductive systems (e.g., TURKOVAC™ on ovarian reserve)
• Cellular responses to chemotherapeutic agents (e.g., cisplatin effects on breast cancer)

Active Research: Leads an ongoing project investigating combined sinvastatin and acetyl salicylic acid therapy on Caco2 colon cancer cell lines (initiated February 2024).
