Erşen Eraslan is an Associate Professor and former Head of the Department of Physiology at Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University's Faculty of Medicine. Previously, he held academic roles at Yozgat Bozok University and Atatürk University. His research focuses on renal and organ ischemia-reperfusion injuries, oxidative stress mechanisms, and the therapeutic potential of natural compounds in pathological conditions.
Research interests include the effects of phytochemicals on gastric ulcers, sepsis-induced organ damage, and reproductive organ injuries. He has conducted over 69 peer-reviewed articles, contributing to fields like nephrology, gastroenterology, and pharmacology. His work also explores drug development for conditions such as renal failure and inflammatory diseases.
Erşen has received the Young Researcher Scientific Publication Award and led several national research projects funded by TÜBİTAK and universities. He has authored book chapters on experimental animal models in clinical sciences and serves as a referee for SCI-indexed journals like Food Function and Renal Failure.
His teaching spans physiology courses in medicine and health sciences, emphasizing practical training in cellular and tissue systems. Administrative roles include departmental leadership and curriculum development.
