Prof. Dr. Emin Kaplan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Protection at Bingöl University's Faculty of Agriculture. He specializes in entomology, with a focus on hymenoptera taxonomy, biodiversity, and pest management. His research spans over 60 peer-reviewed articles and multiple international collaborations. He holds a PhD from Atatürk University and has been actively involved in academic service, including refereeing for journals like the Turkish Journal of Entomology.
Education: BSc (Plant Protection), Harran University (2012); MSc (Plant Protection), Dicle University (2014); PhD (Entomology), Atatürk University (2020). He has conducted research at the Bulgarian Academy of Science and Paris Museum of Natural History through Erasmus programs.
Research interests include hymenoptera systematics, agricultural ethics, biological control, and insect biodiversity conservation. He has led projects on Turkish wasp fauna and contributed to taxonomic descriptions of new species. His teaching portfolio includes courses on entomology, pest control strategies, and agricultural ethics.
Recent work highlights include studies on Darwin wasps (Zootaxa, 2024), agricultural impacts on wasp diversity (Munis Entomology & Zoology, 2024), and new species descriptions in Colletidae and Glaphyridae families.
