Dylan S. McLean is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civic Engagement and Public Service at the University of West Georgia’s University College. He earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo, alongside a B.A., M.A., and a Certificate in Canadian Studies. His teaching includes American Government (POLS-1101), International Relations (POLS-3501), and courses in organizational leadership (ORGL-4690) and internships (POLS-4186/ORGL-4900). His research explores how political culture shapes policy outcomes, particularly gun control, emphasizing individualism’s influence in American debates. Collaborations include co-authoring a Palgrave Macmillan book on this topic and publishing comparative studies between Canada and the U.S. on policy frames and governance.
