Dr. Duygu Biricik Gulseren is an Assistant Professor of Human Resources Management at York University's Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. She holds a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Saint Mary's University (2021), an M.A. and B.Sc. from Koç University, Turkey.
Her research focuses on leadership behaviors, workplace health, and sustainability. Key areas include transformational leadership's impact on employee well-being, chronic pain management in organizations, and aligning HR strategies with sustainability goals. Her work has been supported by grants from SSHRC, WorkSafeBC, and York University.
She teaches courses on Occupational Health and Safety, Staffing Organizations, and Pedagogical Processes. Gulseren has advised doctoral students including Zoya, Minoo Selseleh, and Rachna Dewan. Her awards include the 2024 CSIOP Outstanding Early Career Researcher Award.
She contributes to initiatives like the OHS Project, promoting experiential learning, and serves on research units like the Global Labour Research Centre. Her scholarship bridges theory and practice, emphasizing evidence-based solutions for healthier workplaces.
