Dustin Avent-Holt

Dustin Avent-Holt is an Associate Dean and Professor of Sociology at Augusta University's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. He also directs the Center for Social Science Research. His research focuses on social inequalities, work organizations, economic sociology, and sociological theory, with a recent emphasis on relational inequality theory. He holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts (2012), an MS from North Carolina State University (2005), and a BA from Georgia State University (2003).

Key awards include the Max Weber Book Award (2020) and the Louis K. Bell Research Award (2020). He teaches courses like Sociological Theory and Economy & Society: Pandemics. He serves on multiple university committees, including the Faculty Research and Development Committee and the Institutional Review Board.
