Dr. Dunja Perić is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Kansas State University. She holds a Diploma-Ingenieur from the University of Zagreb, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Colorado Boulder. Her research focuses on theoretical and applied aspects of geotechnical engineering, particularly strain localization in materials and soil-structure interactions.
Research Focus: Her work spans computational modeling of environmentally sensitive infrastructure, including energy foundations and integral bridges. Recent investigations examine geotechnical aspects of sinkhole phenomena and sustainable soil stabilization using bio-materials. She employs both simulation and experimental validation approaches.
Professional Recognition: Dr. Perić has been Visiting Fellow at University of New South Wales and Visiting Associate Professor at University of Colorado Boulder. She previously served as Associate Editor for the ASCE Journal of Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering and contributes to the ASCE Geo-Institute Unsaturated Soils Committee.
