Dudley Lamming is Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, leading research on how dietary composition—particularly protein and amino acid restriction—regulates metabolic health and aging. His lab investigates mTOR signaling pathways using rodent models and biochemical approaches.
Research focuses on branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) as key regulators, with recent work demonstrating that isoleucine restriction extends healthspan and lifespan. The team employs techniques including metabolomics, molecular biology, and behavioral assessments to evaluate interventions like calorie restriction and rapamycin.
Current trainees include PhD student Yang Liu, with prior graduates Nicole Richardson (PhD) and Mohammed Alotaibi (MS). The lab maintains active collaborations across geroscience and metabolism fields.
