معرفی
Roni Dhaher is an Associate Research Scientist in the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Yale School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying epilepsy, particularly mesial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE), with an emphasis on glutamate metabolism, astrocyte dysfunction, and branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) pathways. He investigates how disruptions in glutamine synthetase activity and BCAA levels contribute to seizure initiation and progression.
- Education: PhD from Oregon Health & Science University (2007), BS from University of California, Santa Barbara (2000)
- Key Collaborators: Hitten Zaveri, Tore Eid, Eyiyemisi Damisah, Hamada Altalib
- Research Themes: Neurotransmitter regulation, epileptogenesis, neuroimaging of synaptic density, and metabolic pathways in epilepsy
His work combines rodent models with clinical data to explore seizure mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. Recent studies highlight the role of circadian rhythms in glutamate dynamics and the impact of dietary interventions on seizure severity.
