Dr. Dubravka Dulibić-Paljar is an associate professor at the Department of Croatian Literature, Faculty of Humanities, University of Primorska in Pula. Her work focuses on premodern and modern Croatian literature with a particular emphasis on gender studies, cultural history, and religious discourse. She holds a PhD from 2014 and has taught numerous courses on Croatian literary periods, including Baroque, Renaissance, and Medieval literature, as well as specialized topics like feminist literary analysis and emotional expression in texts.
Her research explores themes such as virginity symbolism in early modern texts, maternal imagery in novels, and cultural phenomena surrounding female educators in the 19th century. She has published extensively on figures like Marko Marulić, Hanibal Lucić, and Mavro Vetranović, analyzing their works through feminist, historical, and philosophical lenses.
Dr. Dulibić-Paljar’s recent publications investigate intersections between literature and broader cultural contexts, including the representation of biblical women in Renaissance art, sentimentalism in 19th-century novels, and the construction of female identity in modern Croatian fiction. She is actively involved in interdisciplinary research projects, such as the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Landscape Archaeology, and teaches courses in both undergraduate and graduate programs.
