Driss Ablali is a tenured Professor at the University of Lorraine, affiliated with the UFR Human and Social Sciences-Metz and the Praxitexte team at Crem (EA 3476). His work bridges semiotics, discourse analysis, and digital communication, focusing on social suffering and public health contexts.
- Research Themes: Epistemology of linguistic theories, digital mediation, social suffering, pronoun usage in intimate contexts, and ICT's role in public discourse.
- Responsibilities: Co-head of Praxitexte team (2015-2019), head of the 'Linguistics and Practices of Texts and Discourses' Master's course, and expert evaluator for Hceres, FRS-FNRS, and other institutions.
His recent 15 articles (2015-2023) explore topics like digital health communication, pronoun analysis in suffering narratives, and structural semantics through Greimas' framework. He supervises PhD students including Shahad Aldweelah (radiophonic discourse) and Sakina El Khattabi (university French education in Morocco). Collaborations span projects like LéA PRO (vocational writing pedagogy) and CAP-CONTROVERSES (public capacity in environmental debates).
