Daniel Schmitt is a full-time Professor at the University of Lorraine, affiliated with the UFR Human and Social Sciences-Metz and the Centre de Recherche sur les Médiations (CREM – EA 3476). His research focuses on digital cultural and heritage mediation, digital devices and uses, and audience reception and knowledge mediation.
He contributes to interdisciplinary projects under the CPER ARIANE initiative, including Public Capacity to Act in Controversies (CAP-CONTROVERSES) and Game Usage Analysis Platform (Aujev), emphasizing participatory design and open science practices. His work bridges digital communication, public engagement, and educational innovation, particularly in collaborative learning and cross-border cultural projects.
