Drew Minter is a Senior Lecturer in Music at Vassar College, where he has been affiliated since 1999. He teaches voice and directs the Vassar Opera Workshop and Madrigal Singers. His expertise spans vocal and dramatic performance of baroque music, with additional teaching roles at the Amherst Early Music Institute since 1989.
- Education: BS in Music from Indiana University-Bloomington.
- Teaching & Leadership: Leads courses in voice (MUSI 63, 163, 263, 363), chamber singers (MUSI 58), and co-directs MODfest, Vassar’s annual arts festival.
- Performance & Outreach: Active singer, conductor, and masterclass instructor at institutions like Indiana University, Boston University, and the Crittendon Opera Workshops.
Research Interests: Focuses on vocal pedagogy, early music performance practices, and interdisciplinary arts collaboration. His work bridges historical baroque techniques with contemporary opera and oratorio performance.
MODfest 2025: Co-directs the festival’s theme “Radical Imagination,” featuring virtual events due to pandemic constraints. Engages in public outreach through WAMC radio interviews.
