Drew Kurlowski is Associate Professor of Political Science at Coastal Carolina University and Director of the American Studies program, having joined the faculty in 2015. He also serves as polling coordinator for the Dyer Institute for Leadership and Public Policy and codirector of the Cincinnatus Center.

Research Focus
His scholarly work centers on American political institutions and behavior, with particular attention to how rules shape outcomes. His research spans:
- Campaign finance and election law reform
- Electoral behavior and voter targeting
- Party organization and strategy
- Foundational questions in American political thought
Publications & Media Engagement
Dr. Kurlowski is the author of the forthcoming book Rules Matter: Election Law Revealed (West Academic) and has contributed to the edited volume State of the Parties 2018. He is a frequent media commentator on elections and voting issues.
University & Community Roles
In addition to his teaching and research, he coordinates polling initiatives for the Dyer Institute, codirects the Cincinnatus Center, and represents faculty interests as a member of the Faculty Senate.
