Drew Hemment is a Professor of Data Arts and Society at Edinburgh College of Art within the University of Edinburgh. He serves as Director of The New Real and Festival Futures at Edinburgh Futures Institute, while also holding Turing Fellow and Royal Society of Arts Fellow titles. With over 30 years of experience, Hemment has pioneered digital culture initiatives in Europe through projects like FutureEverything and the GROW Observatory.
Research Interests: Hemment bridges arts and data science, exploring intersections between digital culture, artificial intelligence, and societal futures. His work spans creative industries, planetary health, and civic technology, focusing on transformative research agendas for AI applications in the arts.
