Drecoll Volker Henning is a Professor of Church History with a focus on Patristics at the School of Evangelical Theology, University of Tübingen, since 2004. He has also served as Ephorus of the Evangelical Stift Tübingen (2005–present) and as Studiendekan (Dean) of the School of Evangelical Theology (2016–2021). Henning studied at the University of Münster (1988–1993), completed his doctoral thesis in 1996, and habilitated in 1998. His academic career includes pastoral work (2000–2001) and a Heisenberg Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (2001–2004).
