Draško Kašćelan serves as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the School of Languages, Cultures and Societies within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures at the University of Leeds, actively contributing to the Q-BEx project.
His academic credentials include:
- PhD in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics from the University of Cambridge
- MSc in Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from the University of Oxford
- Specialist of Art in English Language and Literature (PGCE equivalent) from the University of Montenegro
- BA in English Language and Literature from the University of Montenegro
His research investigates critical intersections between bilingualism/multilingualism and neurodiverse conditions, with specialized focus on figurative language processing in autism spectrum conditions, language impairments, and cognitive mechanisms. This work bridges theoretical linguistics with clinical applications through analysis of idioms, metaphors, and pragmatic development.
Affiliated with the Language Acquisition and Multilingualism research groups, his current Q-BEx project examines bilingualism's relationship with executive functions, leveraging his expertise in cognitive-linguistic interactions across diverse populations.
