Her work focuses on psycholinguistics, particularly figurative language comprehension in multilingual contexts and the impact of ADHD on pragmatic development in children. Currently leading the project “Better attention, better communication?” funded by the Research Council of Norway, her research employs eye-tracking and behavioral tasks to study language processing mechanisms.
Education: PhD in Psycholinguistics (University of Nottingham), MSc in TESOL (University of Edinburgh), BA in Applied English Studies (University of Reading). Previous roles include Teaching Affiliate at the University of Nottingham and English Language Teacher in Cyprus.
Key research interests include irony comprehension in neurodiverse populations, executive attention’s role in pragmatics, and cross-linguistic idiom processing. Awards include the Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence (2015-2018) and RKEC Research Funding (2016-2018).
Publications explore ADHD’s influence on pragmatic skills, cognitive foundations of irony understanding, and L2 idiom processing. Current projects investigate multilingual children’s communication challenges through an attentional lens. Her work bridges developmental psychology, neurolinguistics, and educational interventions.
