Dov Fox is the Herzog Research Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Health Law Policy & Bioethics at the University of San Diego School of Law. An elected member of the American Law Institute, he is a national expert in health law and bioethics with additional scholarship in torts, criminal law, family law, civil liberties, reproductive rights, and technology regulation.

Professor Fox's research examines the legal and ethical dimensions of medicine and reproduction, appearing in top journals like Harvard Law Review and New England Journal of Medicine. His scholarship addresses critical issues including abortion access, fertility fraud, medical disobedience, and reproductive justice, with a focus on equity and patient autonomy. He has authored two books: "Birth Rights and Wrongs" (Oxford, 2019) and "The Conscience of Care" (Harvard, 2025).
His recent publications reveal consistent themes of reproductive law, health policy, and the regulation of emerging technologies, often bridging doctrinal legal analysis with empirical insights from medicine and public health.
