Douglas Thomas is Associate Professor in the Department of Design at Brigham Young University. Education includes BFA in Graphic Design from BYU (2008), MA in Social Science from University of Chicago (2011), and MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (2016).
Research explores intersections of typography, design culture, and visual communication. Professional practice spans user experience design, publication design, and brand systems. Authored 'Never Use Futura' (Princeton Architectural Press, 2017), a cultural history of typography. Design work recognized in international design publications.
