Douglas Henderson

Douglas Henderson is the Associate Director of Bands and Lecturer in Conducting at The University of Texas at Austin. He leads the Wind Symphony, teaches advanced conducting, and oversees band literature. Previously, he held roles as Associate Professor and Director of Athletic Bands at Oklahoma State University. His professional activities include guest conducting with the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project (WYWOP) and Frontier Brass Band, alongside adjudication and clinical work across the U.S., Austria, and Japan.

Henderson maintains memberships in professional organizations like the College Band Directors National Association and Texas Music Educators Association.

Prior to academia, he taught at J.J. Pearce High School and participated in drum and bugle corps with the Madison Scouts and Madison Drum & Bugle Corps Association.
