Douglas Harris

Douglas Harris is a Professor and Nathan T. Nemetz Chair in Legal History at the Allard School of Law, University of British Columbia. He specializes in property law and legal history, with a focus on Indigenous fisheries regulation, condominium law, and urban legal frameworks.

Research Interests: Harris bridges historical analysis with contemporary urban challenges. His work on Indigenous fisheries and land rights critiques colonial legal systems, while his condominium law research examines its global rise as a residential governance model and its implications for urban equity.
