Douglas G Burrin

Douglas G. Burrin is a Professor in Pediatrics and Research Physiologist at the USDA-ARS Children's Nutrition Research Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. His primary focus is translational research on neonatal nutrition, particularly addressing gut and liver dysfunction in preterm infants. He leads the Fellowship Research Training program in Pediatric Nutrition and Gastroenterology.

Education: PhD and MS from University of Nebraska; BS from Purdue University. Postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine.

Research Interests: Explores mechanisms of parenteral nutrition-associated liver disease (PNALD), necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), and intestinal adaptation.
