معرفی
Anders Brunse is an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Preclinical Disease Biology within the Graduate Programme for In Vivo Pharmacology and Experimental Animals. He develops specialized animal models to address critical perinatal challenges including premature birth, early nutrition, and gut colonization.
His research focuses on utilizing premature piglet models to investigate necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) and bacteriophage-based interventions. The PrePhage project (2021-2024) examines fecal bacteriophage transplantation for NEC prevention, integrating microbiome science and virology to address neonatal health crises. Current work emphasizes gut colonization dynamics, metabolic responses to infection, and nutritional strategies for preterm development.
Recent publications (2024-2025) reveal strong interdisciplinary trends in virome-mediated NEC protection, glucose metabolism during sepsis, and diet-gut immunity interactions. Key themes include bacteriophage therapy mechanisms, intestinal pathology scoring systems, and metabolic adaptations in preterm models across neonatology, microbiology, and nutrition disciplines.
Dr. Brunse actively mentors MSc students for thesis projects in biomedical research and secures grant funding for translational studies. His PrePhage project (2021-2024) demonstrates active support for bacteriophage-based NEC prevention research.
Research operations occur within specialized preclinical facilities at the University of Copenhagen's Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, utilizing piglet and mouse models to investigate perinatal disease mechanisms and test therapeutic interventions for neonatal care improvement.
