Douglas A. Irwin is the John French Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College. He specializes in U.S. trade policy, globalization, and economic history. His research focuses on historical trade policies, including the Smoot-Hawley Tariff and the formation of the WTO. He has authored influential books like Clashing over Commerce and Free Trade Under Fire, recognized by The Economist and Foreign Affairs.
