Kasaundra Tomlin is an Associate Professor of Economics at Oakland University's School of Business Administration. She holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of Oregon, along with B.A. and M.A. degrees from Eastern Michigan University. Her research focuses on international trade policy, multinational firms, and foreign direct investment, with notable contributions to understanding trade protectionism and policy efficacy. Her work has been published in journals such as the Review of International Economics and the World Economy.
Tomlin has received multiple grants and awards, including the Oakland University Teaching Excellence Award (2014) and SBA Summer Research Grant (2017). Her teaching specialties include International Economics, Industrial Organization, and Microeconomics. She has advised numerous research projects and contributed to policy analyses on trade liberalization, safeguards, and multinational firm behavior.
Her research spans topics such as tariff-jumping FDI, consumer boycott impacts, and NAFTA implementation effects. Notable collaborations include work with economists like B. Liebman and R. Davies, exploring long-term trade policy consequences and cross-border economic dynamics.
