Dorothée Goetze is a Senior Lecturer in History at Mid Sweden University since 2021, specializing in early modern European history. She serves as Director of Subject Studies in History and South Sami, and Equal Opportunities Representative at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSV).

Her research focuses on early modern European diplomacy, particularly the Holy Roman Empire and Baltic Sea region interactions. She contributes to the PAX NORDICA network (NordForsk-funded) and leads the MEMG Medieval and Early Modern Group at MIUN.
Recent publications explore praxeological approaches to peace processes, Swedish diplomatic representation in the Holy Roman Empire, and methodological innovations in early modern conflict analysis. Her edited handbook with Lena Oetzel examines diverse diplomatic practices across Europe.
