Dorothea Schneeweiß is a research assistant and doctoral student at the Department of Prehistory and Early History at the University of Göttingen. Since 2014, she has been actively involved in archaeological research, including excavation management and fieldwork, with a focus on early medieval and Bronze Age settlements in Northern Germany. Her current work includes a dissertation on the 8th-10th century Saxon settlement of Daerstorf, Harburg district.

Her research interests center on Early Medieval Archaeology, particularly Slavic and German settlements, ceramics analysis, and landscape transformations. She has contributed to excavations in Hitzacker/Elbe and collaborated on projects like 'Slavs on the Lower Middle Elbe' and Charlemagne's Canal Project.
Dorothea's publications highlight her expertise in Bronze Age artifacts and Slavic-German interactions during the Eastern Settlement period. Her recent works explore topics such as ceramic typology in Friedrichsruhe, metal objects from Lake Hitzacker, and settlement dynamics in Northern Europe.
