Dorit Schrewe is a researcher at the Institute for Music and Musicology of the University of Hildesheim. She joined the institute in 2025 after serving as a music and religious education teacher at the Gymnasium Andreanum since 2017 and previously at KGS Gronau (Leine). Schrewe studied music (euphonium) and Protestant theology for secondary school teaching in Osnabrück and completed her teaching internship in Hamelin.

Her research interests span music education, transcultural music mediation, and artistic practice, with a focus on improvisation and community engagement. She is actively involved in the institute's events, including the OUT NOW! Minimusikfestival and the Wandelkonzert series. Schrewe also contributes to projects exploring the intersection of music, belief, and technology, such as "L'amplification des âmes. Sonic Materialities of Belief" (2014) and the symposium "Grooving in the Heart of Whiteness?" (2015).
