Doris L. Garraway is an Associate Professor of French at Northwestern University, where she earned her Ph.D. from Duke University. She serves as Director of Graduate Studies in French and focuses on Francophone Caribbean literature, the Haitian Revolution, and intersections of gender, slavery, and postcolonial studies.

Her research spans early modern French cultures, theopolitical sovereignty, and performance studies, with a forthcoming manuscript on print and performance in the Haitian Kingdom of Henry Christophe. Garraway has held leadership roles, including chairing the Department of French and Italian (2019–2022).
