Dorena Caroli is a Full Professor of History of Pedagogy at the Department of Educational Sciences 'Giovanni Maria Bertin' at the University of Bologna. Previously, she held positions at the University of Macerata, including Associate Professor (2007–2019) and Researcher (2007–2014). She earned a Doctorate in History and Civilization from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (Paris) with highest honors, focusing on Soviet educational reforms for abandoned youth. Her research explores childhood history, Soviet pedagogy, welfare systems, and comparative education.
