Doreen Thierauf, Ph.D., serves as Associate Professor of English at North Carolina Wesleyan University within the School of Humanities, concurrently holding key administrative roles as General Education Program Coordinator and Assistant Director of the Teaching and Learning Center. She also edits Omnium: The Undergraduate Research Journal at NCWU, demonstrating deep institutional engagement.
Her academic foundation includes a Ph.D. from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Teaching spans interdisciplinary British literature courses examining national identity from abolition to modernity, alongside core offerings in gender studies, African American literature, and writing.
Research centers on Victorian literature and culture with specialized focus on 19th-century intersections of gender, maternity, and violence. This scholarly niche appears across publications in Victorian Studies, Victorian Literature and Culture, Victorian Review, and related journals, reflecting consistent contribution to literary historiography.
