Professor Donna Waters is a distinguished academic and leader in the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney. She holds the role of Deputy Executive Dean (Projects) and has extensive experience in academic leadership, including roles as Acting Head of the Broken Hill University Department of Rural Health and Dean of the Susan Wakil School of Nursing and Midwifery. Her research focuses on healthcare research translation, paediatric nursing, and improving healthcare systems through evidence-based practice. Waters has authored major textbooks such as Paediatric Nursing in Australia and New Zealand and Potter & Perry's Fundamentals of Nursing, which are foundational in nursing education globally.
Her academic credentials include RN Paediatric Certification, a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Public Health, and PhD. She is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Nursing (FACN).
