Donna Plecha, MD, is a Professor of Radiology and Pathology at the School of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. She chairs the Department of Radiology and holds the Theodore J. Castele Professorship. Her affiliations include the Cancer Imaging Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center and University Hospitals.
Education: MD from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (1988), BA from Northwestern University (1984).
Research focuses on breast cancer imaging innovations including digital breast tomosynthesis, PET/MRI, ultrasound elastography, and optimizing diagnostic protocols. She has contributed to studies on axillary lymph node surgery guidance and abbreviated MRI protocols.
Notable awards include recognition as a Best Doctor in Cleveland (2013) and Teacher of the Year (2012). Her work spans over 40 publications addressing imaging standards, treatment response prediction, and pandemic-era patient triage strategies.
