Dr. Donna Bontatibus serves as the Dean of Students and Faculty at Middlesex Community College since 2023, following her role as Interim Dean of Academic and Student Affairs (2021–2023). She began her career at Middlesex in 2004 as an English instructor, teaching courses in Composition, Technical Writing, and American Literature. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in English from the University of Rhode Island and a B.A. in English from Albertus Magnus College.
Her research interests focus on pedagogical strategies for student success, including developmental education, writing across the curriculum, and campus collaboration. She has presented workshops nationally on topics like 'Teaching Essentials 101' and 'Creating College Success Learning Communities,' collaborating with organizations such as the Connecticut Coalition of English Teachers and the Schwab Leadership Institute.
Dr. Bontatibus’ publications emphasize practical guides for educators, including works on developmental English instruction and integrating poetry into critical thinking curricula. She actively participates in professional development through conferences like the Academic Chair Leadership Institute and the Foundations of Excellence Summer Institute.
