Felisa Baynes-Ross is a Senior Lecturer in English at Yale University. She holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University (2017), an M.A. from Southern Connecticut State University (2011), and a B.A. from Albertus Magnus College (2008). Her scholarship bridges medieval literature, theology, and postcolonial studies.

Her research centers on vernacular religious writing and lay spirituality in late medieval England, with a focus on how dialogic literary forms challenged ecclesiastical authority. She is currently completing a book manuscript, "Vernacular Theology and Dissent: Lay and Female Spirituality in Late Medieval English Literature," alongside essays analyzing widowhood in devotional texts, theatricality in anti-Semitic plays, and resistance narratives in Caribbean natural histories.
Recent publications include contributions to the edited volume Playing False: Representations of Betrayal and editorial assistance for Readings in the Theory of Religion. At Fordham, she directed the Westchester Writing Center. She teaches courses on medieval/early modern literature, theology, and expository writing.
